The now ruined Caisteal Maol gaurds the narrow strip of water between the

Isle of Skye and the mainland, legend has it the 10th century MacKinnon chief

and his Norse bride ran a chain across the waterway charging a toll on all

passing shipping vessels. The Johan, an old herring ring netting boat built in

1949 can be found sheltering in the small bay. Thanks for looking.

Very moody and appealing! the flaking paint, the ancient ruins and the grey sky so typical of the area, all combine to make a most aesthetically pleasing image.
