A wet and windy winters day. A fishing vessel rests on the shore of Loch Carron with

the remains of Strome castle in the background. Thanks for looking

Stephen,  Wonderful image with most effective point of view.  The prominence and angle of the boat has lots of impact.  Looks like a most interesting castle ruin too.  You saw this image well.   Larry

Interesting subject, but can't make my mind on whether the background castle competes with the ship.

Many thanks for the comments.

I see your point Jose, the goal of the PP was to separate the near, mid and background elements to emphasise the feeling of depth, whilst the boat is the dominant subject the other elements are also important, so I'm happy enough you are feeling this slight tension.

This one works for me. The colors are particularly pleasing. As an aside, you either live in the middle of interesting ruins or your ship's captains have yet to discover modern navigation. Either way, I am envious of your locale.

Hi Stephen, nice picture catched my eyes.

Anyway the boat seems a bit dominant to me or the other way the castle is not able to get my eyes from the boat. Maybe a bit more drama in the sky could balance the strength of the boat and lead the eye in the backgrounnd. Would also try a quadratic format with more of the nice sky.

Regards Michael
