"Dancing is like dreaming with your feet."

Having fun with Milos Zupancic and Matic Klansek Velej

I am trying to get as much shooting outdoors as I can as I am better in the "studio"

as in the conditions outside. We went to Lago di Fusine this weekend to try to

create some beautiful dance photos and this is one of them. As you can see the

weather wasn't the best but I still love the softness and the meaning of this photo.

Comments and critique welcome,

Love, Ulla

I love the definition (looks so much better when viewed large) against that wonderful misty backdrop. The raindrops and movement of the water under her feet bring life to the image!

As regards the composition, I would like to have placed her body between the natural gap in the trees and perhaps then facing the other direction and maybe a little more room at the bottom of the image. But maybe that is more something to do with my passion for landscapes.

Beautifully done!

beautiful...i might have had her wear a different color dress for this image though...the black stands out as a hard/dark color against the softness of the image but that might be what you were after...regards....David

Thank you all for your sweet and nice comments, I have to say I agree with them.
A little explanation.

@David - This wasn't really my shoot, I was invited to it so I didn't have a say about the color of the dress. I have to agree that something soft and pastel would be better.
@Alf - Yes I know and your eye is trained to see all :D. This was a moment, as she was lifting her leg and I'm not really trained in capturing fast moving objects. So all in all the composition could be better but as it was raining we went pretty fast. And the bottom of the image was full of green stuff so I cut it off (it just didn't look right). I'm really happy that you took the time to comment on the photo and these are not excuses just explanations. I'll be more careful next time. But we learn from mistakes as long as we have someone to show them to us and I am grateful for you Alf.
Love, Ulla

A gorgeous portrait and an utterly well-balanced composition. I suggest that you change the title to "The Black Swan" ;-)
