I used Photoshop to darken the background, burn shadows on the face and hair a little,

and add a very slight color cast. Each time I added something, it looked great to me.

However, I am now wondering if it looks too Photoshopped! Or, does it just show a

style. I know when one first edits a photo, they will often get caught up in the emotion

and think it looks great, only to look at it again a month later and think the edits were

terrible. So, while I am waiting for a month, I thought I would ask for some input from

others who don't have an emotional attachment to this photo. :) (By the way, I realize

Photoshop is not officially a verb yet.)

I agree PDE, that the picture looks natural and not photoshoped at all! You have done what some photographers fail to do, you used PS as a tool to enhance rather than as a tool to change!

Bravo! and Well done

The photoshopping is done well. So I think you've achieved your aim of it not being noticeable. The background is deep and the highlight flares in the background have a good energy and yet are not overpowering.

That being said, I'm not sure it shows a style either. Photoshop, in conjunction with good shooting, lighting, composition, expression, and posing, can certainly help in creating a style. This photo is a pleasing and flattering portrait, but I don't think of it as exhibiting a particular style.

The only thing I notice that might be worth a second look is the hotspot running vertically down the bridge of her nose. Perhaps just a little more blending, so that the shadows on the sides of her nose and the highlight on the bridge itself were evened out a bit. Her cheeks also show a bit of heat.

I don't like Photoshop and would never have guessed this is 'shopped' My reaction would be that this is obviously a young woman who has lots of personality and with this one single shot you have captured it.
