The highlight on the point where the needle touches the skin is amazing.

hello james thank you for your fine compliment. the title sharp is evident i hope. i was playing with this leave, not from a cactus but from a bush wih red currents i don`t know her name. i was fascinated by the sharpnes and the shape, if you look at the picture you will see that the flat shape of the leaf evens the shape of the thump in 3 ways, this is called imagerhyme, what is common in the art of painting, but photography pays also a interest in this formal quality. i was very happy with the final result and it gives me a good feel that other people think the same. thank you, mike.
