Many of us feel that actually pointing out ways why you feel a photo may be improved is more constructive than just saying "awesome" or "beautiful." These are over used adjectives more suited to elementary school or to those wearing rose-tinted spectacles. The world is indeed awesome and beautiful, but it also other things too. Critical comments do not necessarily mean you do not like a photo. Appreciation is more nuanced that that. What happens when you come across a photo that shows something manifestly not beautiful? Does that mean it's a poor photo? How would you compare such a picture to one that exhibits "extreme artistic beauty", or does beauty and artistry always "win"? Link to comment
