Maurizio summed it up quite well indeed. I much like these kind of photos, as to me they convey one of those things photography do so well: show the graphic nature of normal, simple things around us, making us re-see common objects with a fresh pair of eyes.

This photo does that very well. It doesn't more complexity for sure :-)

I prefer simple uncluttered things in general. Though a complex photo might give the viewer more things to consider I find a simple photo can give a viewer a detailed item to consider with as much thought. For me with this photo it was not the keys, but the grain of the wood above the name. Someone had to select that. Why that piece? Your comments are appreciated.

Simplicity is indeed the key, as well as contrast and composition, with the semi-diagonals and the keyboard in the lower third, to make this picture stand out, and it certainly was the first in your portfolio to catch my eye. Well done.

Thank you for your kind words. Simple seems to catch my eye also. I was standing in this position as I approached the piano. Something seemed appealing at this spot so I shot the photo.
