Looks like the bird could be a Swift or maybe a Swallow?

Great framing / composition and I like the lightness of the background grasses and the far view of the bridge which tends to give the image a lot of depth.  There is something else to the upper right, which I would consider cloning out, only because it doesn't seem to add very much, but being dark against the light background is very noticeable.

Of course another ideaa is that you could also crop the top of the image, rotate it slight anti-clockwise to give a perfectly presented X shape with just the bird visible. But having scrolled down and kind of tried it that way, I have to conclude that the image is much stronger with the bridge and people included.

Nice work Len!

Best Regards

I don't know the difference between a swift and a swallow.  Looked like a swallow to me so that's why it is identified that way.  I've taken your advice to heart & you can see the changes in my re-work link below.  Thanks for your swift reply.  (sorry, couldn't help myself)  :-)  Best, Len.

Love it, the perched bird, a swift swallow ;-) adds reality to this attention grabbing composition.  Well done... Mike

A bold and rather unusual composition but that's just the sort I like. You wouldn't pass this one without stopping for a second look.

Yah, it needs the bird, and as Alf says, the people & bridge.  I had time only for two shots, this one is my favourite.  Thanks for your support.  Best, Len.

The elevated viewpoint was an observation tower staircase.  I was on my way back down when I spotted the bird & made a hasty composition.  Swallows don't sit still for too long in my experience.  Best, Len.

Hi Len, This is certainly an attention grabber. I like the bridge in the distance up high in the image, out of the way so to speak, but necessary as is the bird to give us points of reference. A well put together image Len. It made me look again, thinking to myself didn't I comment on this last time? Good work my friend.

Best Regards, Holger

I just uploaded this 2012 capture.  Sat on it for four years, that's probably why you thought you'd missed it.  It was a spur of the moment, true grab-shot.  Saw the bird & couldn't resist the shot. In my answer to Alf, above, I've included a version incorporating his suggestions on improving the original post.  Compare & see if you agree that the new one is better.  Best, Len.
