GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 25, 2016 That sunshine looks so lovely. Wow, it looks so warm there!!! We were fortunate not to get hit with the storm that hit the American Eastern Seaboard, but it sure is cold here! I love the patterns reflected on the pavers from the columns in the building on the right, combined with the shadow of the man and the woman. Nice work while experimenting Jamie! Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted January 25, 2016 The striped shadows are great J. A bit harsh in the center but that's to be expected. I like the perspective in general.Holger Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 25, 2016 Gail - Amazing reflections, as you say. The sun is so low here in the winter that strange effects like this are common. Thanks. best, j Holger - I took these pictures eight or nine years ago, when I had a terrible scanner. I knew there was a figure in the dark on the left, but it took a lot of work with new scans to bring him up - almost certainly a mistake. I attached a more traditional rendering in case you're curious. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 26, 2016 Leica made four 35-mm f/2.0 lenses, all before the aspherical version. My first Leica lens was the Version Two with which I took this picture. Version Four is widely touted to be the best, and I subsequently bought one of those and sold my Version Two. Years later I saw pictures taken of the same scene with all four versions. I liked Version Two the best, so I rescanned some negatives I took eight or nine years ago with my Version Two. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted January 26, 2016 It's the striped shadow that does it for me. It leads in from the right corner and you have to study the image further to see just how it has been formed. Very effective! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 26, 2016 several years before your first comment on one of my pictures. you seemed to have missed my classic period! first Leica roll. ahh well. i'm going to print this one. Thanks Alf. best, j Link to comment
svetlana_korolyova 27 Posted January 27, 2016 Very interesting play of light and shadow in this space! But the second version of this shot is more expressive. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 27, 2016 probably a mistake. perhaps i will lean more toward that version in the final print. Many thanks Svetlana. best, jamie Link to comment
