Trying my hand at fine art technique...I know, I know, I really should know better, but

hey, how else am I to fill a wet and windy Saturday afternoon? Seriously, this is a

project that I need to do very well with for the sake of the young ballerina who is

struggling with some self image issues at the moment. Any tips, advice, suggestions

you can make would be very much appreciated. The next round will probably be in the

studio with a mirror wall and ballet bar. All expertise shared is gratefully received!

Graham, you have captured her mood. And the closed in versus open quality of her arms. Protective and defensive almost. The only technical thing, which may or may not be of any value to you is that the subject seems to float in a blank space. It is hard to see her in any environment. I would enjoy seeing her on a floor or against a neutral wall. Or maybe not. I wish you both well. Regards, -g-

I think Gerry and I have the same suggestion, though I thought about it a bit differently: give her a little bit more space. As she is cropped right now she is rather isolated - or floating in space as Gerry put it.

I love the almost painterly quality of the image.
