It's a habit they adopt at a very young age.  Hard to break I guess.  One of 90 keepers from a shoot numbering about 350. Of those I've only chosen to post a half dozen or so.  Of those I've printed only 2 to date.  I had fun shooting the game.  In post I was kept busy for a bit longer, keeping the streets of Barrie safe from my presence for a time. :-) Best, Len

I think what makes this one a bit special (in addition to that wonderful expression) is the diagonal composition or shape. In fact I might have been tempted to use a bit of artistic licence to rotate the image a few degrees clockwise in order to accentuate the effect and crop the strip at the top at the same time.

Not that the image really needs any alterations, it's just a suggestion.

Great clarity and detail too Len!

Best Regards

Leveling the frame, a product of my camera viewpoint, may have resulted in the tip of the hockey stick to be uncomfortably close to the frame edge if not actually crossing it.  (though I guess I could have rebuilt the frame with some photoshop hanky panky)  A tilted ice surface also gives the player a speed advantage when attacking the opposing team's s net.  :-)  But your point is valid.  I have posted other shots that have lent themselves to successful leveling.  Though full frame professional grade gear would likely produce even more clarity and sharpness I'm generally pleased with my entry level equipment results.  Were I to do this for pay instead of pleasure I'd certainly upgrade.  Best, Len.

Leave it to a landscape photographer to agonize over tilted horizon lines.  :-)  Oh, Alf, you still here?  Holger, thanks for the 'thumbs up'.  Best, Len.

Lovely shot and beautiful form even though I risk being repetitious. Maybe he intends to give the puck passer a tongue-lashing if he mucks up the pass.

A rare fight between members of the same team?  They'd likely save that for the locker room.  No, these guys are pros. One step below the NHL.  Against the opposing team? ............Well, that's another story!    :-)    Thanks for your visit & comment.  Best, Len.
