Interesting image of this little songbird. Just a bit more light on the bird would make this image perfect..

Juha, point well made. Been trying to get more light on the bird, but the result is, that it takes away the magic of the moment, just before sun-rise, from the total image. Thank you for your input. Best regards, Wobby.

beautiful as is --- layered with that twilight before sunrise magic. I’m not a fan of bird pictures by disposition, but this shot has a lovely spirit about it.

I find this image immediately captivating.

It is not about a bird. It is not about being photographically perfect (which it is, by the way). Some people are perhaps right or feel compelled to give an opinion on some photographs. That's fine. However, with several (many) exceptions, I would tend to consider the photographers in PN as sufficiently experienced to post their work in a manner that expresses something. You will find that sometimes underexposed, grainy, tilted, composed in a certain way, are posted. In my POV, THAT'S the way the photographer intended to convey his/her message.

Having said that, again IMHO this shot is truly artistic. IMO it has the right amount of light, of color saturation, of lighting, DOF…But why go on with technical analysis when the image is so pleasing, so appealing? This photograph is simply delightful!

Daniel, just by chance I found your elaborate comment. Thank you for your views which I very much appreciate. I only started in 2011 with my first photos on a Canon 50 D and with dedication and an open mind, got caught in a fever for bird pictures and it took a while before technically getting it right. I am now ready to move on, meaning it is not just the bird, but the circumstances and actions as well as a proper composition. I am 62 with some free time and endless patience.

Thanks again and best regards, Wobby
