This was captured at sunset, just after the bird that left it's track flew away. What I

was going for was the glowing fence and the shadows it created, how those shadows

bend as they go across the rising dune. Is the bird that flew away critical to making

this a great photo, or did I capture something of interest?

Tim,

you have a good camera and you had a very good subject.  Your approach was excellent thinking about the light on the fence and about the lines of shades.  The waves on the sand are important and then you have the tracks of this bird.  One would be lucky to have these elements next to each other and see how to compose them the best possible way, and how to get the best clarity possible. Interesting image !!! I like the lines, the play of light and shadows, colors and composition. The tracks of the bird are a nice addition, but they are not necessary, because the image itself is very good.
