Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 14, 2015 I like this one; there's real character here, suggesting almost the setting for a fascinating story. Actually I think it would be even stronger cropping to just below the shadow on the upper left. Link to comment
serocchio 0 Posted October 15, 2015 Very nice scene with the old grandmother on the door! Bravo! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted January 23, 2016 Too many elements, harsh lighting, nice colors...simply a realistic documentary without main subject! Good composition and positioning! Best regards PDE Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted January 23, 2016 Dear Pierre, thank you for your TRUE critique, i DO appreciate it, this is exactly what might make us think twice about our photos and how we can get better. Looking the photo with your eyes i must say that you are absolutely right about the "too many elements", it seems to complicated in terms of graphic elements. The hard light is there but i think it's useful, it creates shadows and contrast. Unlike you i am not so happy with the composition, something bothers me a bit but i can't tell what.It is a documentary photo, and it defines its own theme, i don't think that a "main theme" is necessary in every photo.Anyway thanks a lot for your thorough critique, cheers.
