I can think of worse people you could have hooked up with.

The design is real sweet with the land crescents out forwards the middle, topped with some dramatic clouds.

Have you ever used the Lighting Levels on Photoshop? The Levels may beef up the tone in a black and white, producing more contrast to give depth

I have used once or twice the light masks in photoshop but only for colour photos. I don't know if you are referring to that or to a different technique.

Could you please explain more?

Thanks for your comment!

Yes, when you convert your image to black and white on my PS13 under "Enhance" at the top command bar there is a drop down that appears. Levels will be one of the options, hit that. Next what will appear is a slider bar, the left makes the image darker, the right makes it lighter, slide either side for the desired level. I hope this makes sense

To Tony:

ah! Yes now I understand, only I called that only "levels"  (the term lighting levels mislead me). Do you think that this photo needs some adjustment with that?

What in particular?

It is fine the way it is but for my taste, I like a little richer tones in the landscape area. Perhaps a little more tonal separation from the vegetation and the water, to me they are very close in tone, so just a tad of separation makes me happy.

I hope you have a splendid weekend my brother~

Tony,

what you say it's very interesting. Actually I've always felt that tone separation was something lacking in my photos (comparing them with those of other photographers). But I've attributed this to the limitation of my little compact camera. Its exposure latitude is quite short compared to an average SLR camera, now do you think it can be improved with levels? And how?

My dear friend, it does not matter the camera.

I have often said, it is not the arrows but the Indian.

Wonderful images can be achieved with any method to take that image, it is the desire, creativeness and the passion of the person behind the lens.
