GerrySiegel 868 Posted September 18, 2015 Hi Wim. I love the hair style of this young miss. And the winning smile. If I may offer a technical thought or two. I would recommend evaluating the direction of the light source in your studio or add a reflector in front and below faces and see if that brings the eyes to a more of a pop if you follow me. As well as the boa which is nice but kind of subdued where it is a real prop to be exploited I think... As to the grey background. A thought, sir... Neutral works in stormy gray for most uses I think. Though for lilttle petit I think a more complementary shade or pur white would be even more revealing of the subject. A good studio portrait that ought to be sold and resold...I wish you well. gs Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted September 19, 2015 I am inexperienced at Portraits but I find this one most pleasing. Your processing is not over done. She is such a beauty....her red hair and lovely skin tones are well processed. I'm thinking that is a kind of 'fake fur' that is attached to her sweater. The background doesn't bother me at all, it seems to work well with the overall colours, her eyes and outfit. Beautiful! Link to comment

Not Here 93 Posted September 19, 2015 To me whatever technical improvements that can be made are overshadowed by those eyes; they're captivating. What a beautiful child and portrait... Mike Link to comment
wimputs 1 Posted September 19, 2015 Thank you Gerry for you good advice. It's not made in a studio but on the street.I change the color and light from the background in PS.I think a white background is a bit too much contrast. You right the Boa is perhaps better without. Link to comment
wimputs 1 Posted September 19, 2015 Thank you Gail.Yes it's fake fur.I made this photo on a day that thousand off people from all over the world with natural red hair come too a small town in Holland. People with different color hair are a minority then. Link to comment

GerrySiegel 868 Posted September 27, 2015 Wim, thank you for reflecting on my comments. I meant them in good spirit. If I do not really like a work I do not bother to add any thoughts and just slip past it . I agree with your judgment. After all, it is your photo. And I am partial to redheads of all ages:-) A whole city of redheads would be a real bounty. gs Link to comment
