This shot was taken from a bird hide in South West Scotland. Those of you

who know anything about Sparrowhawks will know how difficult they are to

spot due to their secretive nature, unpredictable behaviour, speed of attack

and sensitivity to any kind of human presence. However, this particular

beautiful specimen visits the site of a woodland bird hide and appears to be

fearless of the presence of photographers with their noisy clicking cameras!

She is almost guaranteed to visit the hide location on a daily basis. I do not

know of any other location in Europe that can boast a Sparrowhawk visit

like this one!
