LenMarriott 9 Posted September 2, 2015 For a fleeting moment there I thought I spied Captain Jack Sparrow among the wreckage. But the moment passed and all I see now is this very nicely photographed old ship, another 'Oops' of the seafaring community. Not so for the photographic community. :-) Nicely done! Best, Len. alfbailey 4 Posted September 18, 2015 Humble apologies for my late response. A short holiday was a welcome interruption of my usual routine and I am a bit behind with everything! No Captain Jack was present at this shoot, although of his mutinous followers did make an appearance (in the shape of small children) who I felt obliged to run through with my trusty tripod or give them the alternative to walk the plank! Or just keep out of my shot : - )Always good to hear from you Len and Thank you so much for your thoughts and kind words!Best Regards Alf MAURIZIO Many Thanks for your positive feedback, much appreciated! Best Regards Alf EYSTEIN Thank you so much. It wasn't originally intended as a B & W image, but the contrasting light seemed to point the way.Sincere Thanks! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
rjmelone 3 Posted October 3, 2015 A stunning example of dynamic B&W photography Alf! The contrast and sharpness of the gray and black tones are superb as is all the elements in the beautifully lit sky! Another masterpiece Alf! Congratulations! Best regards, Rob Link to comment

ryourth 0 Posted October 7, 2015 Hi Alf-Talk about tonal qualities, outstanding. There is brilliance to the print rarely seen, a certain brightness seems to fill the scene. For me, it is a pleasure to sit here & enjoy your fine print, thanks to your excellent processing skills. alfbailey 4 Posted October 7, 2015 Many Thanks for your most encouraging words! I use PP software "Silver Efex Pro-2" which really seems to be able to accentuate textures and light. Always good to hear from you. Best Regards Alf Link to comment
sarah_mcnulty 5 Posted October 8, 2015 Hi Alf, what a shot to find! As said in previous comments the tonal qualities are wonderful. This would be a great camera club competition piece if you belong to one as they like things like this! Spot on (in my opinion) light and composition too. Best wishes. Sarah. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted October 8, 2015 Thank you so much! I did join a camera club once, but somehow didn't seem to fit in. Maybe I'll try another : - ) This ship was built by local volunteers from old drift wood and fallen trees donated from local parks. Needless to say it has been a big hit with the children! And of course the older children like me : - ) Cheers Sarah Alf Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted October 9, 2015 The white sky really gives a punch to the tonal range. Lovely shot. I am surprised you did not dress up in your pirate suit for this one (*_*). Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted October 9, 2015 Many Thanks for your interest and kind words. I don't think I could pull off the "Captain Alf Sparrow" character, I just don't have the facial hair for it : - ) Best Regards Alf Link to comment
