The night before I arrived at the park, there was much fresh snow everywhere, it sticked to shrubs and trees. But during the night, there was a severe storm all night and next days with winds over 120 km/h, and all snow melted. Laguna Amarga which was frozen, accumulated its ice on its coast. The Torres could not be seen all next morning, when suddently for a few seconds they were visible. The ice accumulated on the coast looks like a scenery on the Antarctic. This is an event rarely observed in the Torres del Paine National Park. Critiques and Ratings welcome.

Never saw that kind of scenery in the Torres del Paine National Park. All that

ice accumulated on the coast of the Laguna Amarga, after a winter wind storm

at night. See for more details in the text I left below the photo. Thanks for

ratings and critiques.

Daniel,  Let me be the first to congratulate you on this amazing spectacle .   Do you know how fortunate you are to live in the vicinity of Torres Del Paine and Chilean Patagonia?   This is nature at its best with its most awe inspiring impact.  I feel most fortunate to have had a short one day experience at Torres Del Paine and would love to get back.   My compliments.  Have you thought of submitting some of your images to Nature Conservancy or a similar preservation organization?   You could contact them to inquire about their interest.  Best to you.  Larry

Daniel

Anybody who loves mountains would get goose bumps over this photo and your other recent photos from Patagonia.

I originally had been struck by the beauty of Chile described in the poems of

Pablo Neruda, so much so that such a photo is its own enchanting poem.

Must go save up my money for this trip !!!

Larry, Tony, Gianni and Michael, Thanks for your critiques and sugestions. Tony, yes, good panoramic, this is an interesting 2nd image, in case I make a book and there is space for a spectacular panoramic. I did not think about it, I was so absorbed by the ice in the foreground! Greetings to all. Now waiting for more snow and another trip around.
