Minimal but effective composition. I like the challenge between the roughness of the textures and the richness of the colours... it makes this image raw and beautiful at the same time.

Congrats for such a nice image.

Every time I see one of your images, I get the impression that you took your time to set up and ensure a certain precision resulting in a perfect image. Any comment is simply from an artistic perspective and based on personal tastes. When i first looked at this image I was grabbed by the diagonal line then the wonderful  abstract pattern in the foreground wall which made me yearn for more of that quality in the background wall. I wondered if I would have darkened that background wall to show up more texture. Then I wondered if I darkened that wall whether I would upset that dynamic range of dark to light.

I have darkened the image to satisfy my penchant for the what I feel is hidden in those walls but mine is not a recommendation. I honestly feel that there is a balance between yours and mine but I don't have the time to play with it seriously.

All the very best,

Ricardo, Aileen: Thank you so much for taking the time to make your appreciative comments.

Tony, thanks for the suggestion, a very valid point about balancing the tones of the two areas of texture. I'll have to try it out sometime soon. PN from time to time gives us the opportunity to share these kinds of insights, things you might not notice all on your lonesome. Best regards.

This image is a study in elegant simplicity! Love the simple color palette, the strong diagonals and textures. The little rectangle of a window is like a cherry on top...just the perfect touch that turns a large, empty space into an essential composition element. Well seen and well done!
