Old Snag. Orton effect-(enlarge)

The tree adds almost a 'ghostly' mood to the landscape.  The softness is pleasant and in combination with the tree, almost seems 'other worldly'.....very effective Brent.

If this is hdr, it seems a little over done. (the trees/landscape glow a little unnecessarily.) Other than that, nice shot/good composition!

I seldom use Orton on landscapes (more for flowers, etc) but it looks nice here - a soft painterly effect.

Thanks Tony. This was one of my first experiments with the Orton Effect. You're right it doesn't always work and especially with landscapes. I appreciate your comment.

I must say that the effect on this image only works because of the snag.  That being said you did a brilliant job with it!  I bet this would look beautiful printed and hanging on your wall, congrats.
