Your thoughts on how this might be improved are appreciated. Two

exposures on the first night of an epic five day, two-thousand mile

road trip through the southwestern U.S.

Nice. I almost didn't look at this one. It gives a feeling of large space and solitude.

E.T. - come home !  ;-)

Seriously though,  I like this very much except my eye is drawn to the light circle above the vehicle.  I would clone that out and then one's eyes would be drawn specifically to the vehicle and the stars above.

Great concept

Thanks so much Mike, Chuck, and Jim for taking the time to offer your thoughts.  Regarding the light over my Jeep, cloning it out is an interesting idea but would fundamentally change the message of the photograph, don't you think?

Having had another look at it,  I think you are right.  The first time I could not think what it is - but now realise that it must be a streetlight.  So you may be best to leave in.

Best regards, Jim

This is the following morning, so you have an idea of the surroundings and my light setup.
