sezgin aytuna 0 Posted October 2, 2003 This architectural masterpiece was built in 200 A.D and and rebuilt in around 1200 A.D. It became a mosque in 1453, with the order of Fatih Sultan Mehmet the conqueror of Istambul. In 1934, it was converted into a museum by the order of M. Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. Link to comment
aaronsizer 0 Posted October 2, 2003 The Hagia Sophia is a lot more interesting than the bushes in the foreground, but you've framed this shot as if the bushes were the main event. The weird shapes and saturated colors give the whole scene a kind of Disneyland feeling, as well. A bit too bizarre and unsettling to really work for me. Link to comment
t._n._williams 0 Posted October 2, 2003 The colors of the flora are just stunning. They certainly caught my eye. But as a picture of the Mosque it is lacking. I don't see enough of the Mosque. The spires on the right are hidden and yet peeking out. I would love to see more of the Mosque, from what I can see it is stunning. tn Link to comment
peter_free 0 Posted October 2, 2003 I very much like this picture. It's original and hints at the beauty of the mosque while giving a good sense of attractive grounds. I like the composition because it composes reality without forcing it to the point of complete symmetry. The photograph would make a wonderful introduction to a sequence of photographs approaching the sacred place. Congratulations. Link to comment
