This one wins, David.  Much nicer contrast and colors than your other version.  Nicely composed framing of the snowcapped mountains!

I like the previous attempt as the even lighting is really nice. However, this one might appeal to those who like higher contrast.

IMHO, This one looks better especially with the light on the arch and the contrasty shadows.

David,   You raise a tough question. I like both images.  The other is softer.  This one is harsher.  i think I prefer the other.  Wouldn't this look great with the moon in the image?  Larry

Interesting how about half prefer the the shadowed version  and the other half prefer the more evenly lighted version. Me, I still like the evenly lighted one better.  To my eye, the first morning light before t he sun hits is beautiful beyond comparison. But, as a friend says.... Some like blondes and others prefer brunettes.
