Rob,  How is this a departure?  Nicely done.  You did well with the B&W conversion, probably looks better than a color rendition.  I would suggest removing the noise in the sky.  Thanks for posting this.  Larry

Thanks, Larry.  It's a departure because I'm trying to get more "black" into the black & white.  I'd love to reduce the noise in the sky, but I don't know how!

I would like see the noise toned down .try some filters in topaz labs like adjust,B&W ,Lens ,detail.They offer free trials.And they have tutorials on you tube etc.
