This works very well. That white, peaked section of the collapsed barn (with the shadow below) seems to silently rebuke the gentleman calmly observing its demise. There's a noticeable sense of connection between those two pictorial elements that I think is crucial to the success of the picture. As a very small nit pick, there's a bit of a halo around the man's head and left shoulder that I think could be made a little less noticeable..

Jack, thank you for your astute observations. The color original is attached. I thought that the event would best be depicted in black and white. The halo around her head may be due to too much color slider variation (reduced blue, increased red) and contrast increase in the conversion to monochrome, in order to seek a more dramatic effect.
