This is a real keeper ... I like the full height composition and most everything else ... thanks for sharing

I can see why you love this so much.  It's lovely!  Since there is obviously a strong attachment between the two, I'd like to see more expression on the grandfather's face......particularly the eyes.  I think you could lighten the shadows a bit on both his face and the dark side of the girl's face and hair.  But you've done the hard part.....capturing a special moment.  Another thing you could play with......unless you particularly want the background for some reason, you could severely crop this to an upper body shot.....crop below the grandfather's hand and quite a lot off both sides.  Anyway, see if you like the idea.  It's not better....just another option.
