Fair comment, I think we're on the same page - I'm still not sure about it either - but as you say the ratings seem to say don't trash it yet.

Over done for me. I like the concept and composition so I wouldn't trash it exactly, but perhaps go back and rework things - the tree is overexposed for my taste, I'd tone it down, along with the water. The light spot in the water below the tree also distracts. I'd like more smaller stars, so don't zoom in so much on them.

Actually, I look at it as a Digital Alteration that translates into an almost painterly creation.  I am not sure of what you planned from the onset as far as processing...but it works for me - at least in the way I have interpreted it.....very  magical actually.
