Interesting perspective. At first I found the reflection of the shoe on the hardwood floor a bit distracting, but the more I look at it, the more I find that it makes this picture work. I can't really say why the reflection off the polished floor works but it does add an interesting element to the picture.

 

Here is a version of the picture where I removed the reflection. It doesn't seem to be as good as the original piece.

 

nice work, very delicate. I think I like the version without the reflection better.

The lighting and composition are fantastic. A classic example of how something relatively simple, when taken by a good photographer, can become true art.

wonderful. reflection's a bit distracting, still a good pic. degas missed that, though he brought every other ballet aspect on canvas.

Thank you all for your lovely comments! I prefer the reflection myself as I think it balances out the composition, but I appreciate your suggestions and taking time to edit.

I really like the feet falling into a very shallow DOF, and the subtle pink shoes against the wood grain seem to compliment each other.
