Hi Marmeet,

Thanks for sharing.  You have a good subject and as a snapshot this may have been ok.  But i can tell by the focus (or lack of) on the eyes that this may have been a sub-par photo to begin with.  It does look like you've over processed it in an attempt to compensate.  I am not being mean, just pointing out the obvious...i know this because we have ALL done it! :)  I don't think going monochrome is a bad idea, but the yellowish tone doesn't do much to improve.  I like your depth of field, but i can't tell where the focus is.  It's a hard thing to do, especially when outside in an uncontrolled environment, while hand holding but if you don't have sharp focus on the eyes, i really think the image is lost.  Try using a smaller aperture to get a deeper focus and a faster shutter to reduce motion blur (you'll need to bump the ISO or use a flash).  Finally, having a quality image is the foundation and no amount of over processing with "artistic" filters are going to help  I've got literally thousands of "almost" shots that would have been phenomenal if only i'd got the focus on the right spot at the right time.  That only comes with practice.
