Off to the Races

This is a Eurocopter EC 120B Colibri helicopter. The pilot and three passengers were just lifting off to spend the afternoon out at the Texas Motor Speedway for the AAA Texas 500 race. The speedway is about 38 miles from where they lifted off, but with a seating capacity of about 191,000 you can bet the traffic will be something you want to avoid. Beats sitting in traffic I suppose.

Nice shot.  When I was at Cavanaugh last month all the good stuff had already departed for Alliance Air Show in Ft Worth.
