Capra ibex and rainbow. The Eiger, Switzerland.

While climbing the eiger, (in background), took a moment to capture this scene. Lucked out with red at end of rainbow, its a natural lichen growth. Unmanipulated.

thanks for your comment Marina. It's actually only partially luck. As a biologist I know that these animals are severely sodium deprived and will come from miles if they smell a good sodium source. So, my friends and I all pissed on some rocks, set up the shot... and waited. The rainbow was the true luck... as it came and went in a minute.

Eye catching image, Peter. A beautiful gift for compensate your patience, with the plus of a rainbow. However I'd wish to see just a bit more ground under the animal, maybe cropping a bit on top. Is this the only shot you taken? You can consider also to improve the contrast, in order to enhance the silhouette effect against the snow. Bests.

Friends and I pissed on the rocks and waited for the ibex (sodium

deprived) to come. Few hours later showed up in time for a break in

the clouds and rainbow. on right side bottom, there is an red plant

coincidentally at the rainbow's end.

Looks like it could use some judicious contrast masking - the setup is great but the ibex could be better exposed and the snow/rainbow given more impact.
