Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 25, 2014 Great, Pierre. How did you manage to make this building look so much like a pen and ink sketch? Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 25, 2014 Duplicate layer, filter stylize> find edges on the copy layer, blending, desaturating both layers, adjusting brightness, contrast!! As simple as that, Jack! Thanks for your visit and nice comment! PDE Link to comment
AJBart 9 Posted September 25, 2014 Yes Pierre, you certainly make it sound simple!!! But its all in the eye (and mind) of the designer!! Wonderful composition. Like the pen and ink look . AJ Link to comment
timothymuffitt 1 Posted September 25, 2014 This is amazing Pierre! A remarkable "find" and beautifully presented. It looks surreal in that it is collapsing inward, yet still stands, like a sand castle.Tim Link to comment
lauramarco 0 Posted September 25, 2014 Dear Pierre,I love this image!. Looks like in a "cartoon" place."Enchanted House" by Mickey Mouse in B&W. Have you seen it? When Death is playing the piano and tells Mickey: "Playyyyy!" ...Congratulations on your technique, the result is quite original. Simply, it does not seem easy to be done, I agree with AJ Bart, it has much merit.I've often been under those ruined rooftops to take photos, a bit afraid it might fall all over me and even I went to the second floor, climbing stairs that no one uses more, where rain rages, there're many leaks ... but the photos are awesome, the best!.Places full of memories, people forgotten in time, full of dreams. I really love that places. Congratulations and best wishes. Warmest regards! Laura Marco Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 25, 2014 AJ, My eyes and mind only discovered that combination, there are easier options, filters to make it look like drawing with one click, but I wanted some experimentation! Thank you for your nice comment! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 25, 2014 Timothy, I don't know if I understood you well (the collapsing inward) is convergence produced with the the use of wide angle lens and low point of view! But, the whole construction leans towards right, I easily straightened up and it wasn't what this theme needed! Thank you for your visit and nice comment! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 25, 2014 Dear Laura, I can see that we agree in the subtle beauty and significance of the old, ruined by time houses! I lived in such a house until my six years and visited often another ones and enjoyed the scent of the old furniture and walls reading interesting for me books, sleeping on the veranda (which this one doesn't have) and listening to the trains passing through the night on the route of the good old Orient Express! Thank you for your nice contribution PDE Link to comment
donev1 712 Posted September 25, 2014 Very well done, Pierre! I have feelings of nostalgia looking at your old house and I see - you also. Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 26, 2014 Hey, Patsy! There are numberless possibilities of effects, but when the original photo is not technically just OK I prefer this one which again has a number of variants! Take care PDE Link to comment

Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted September 26, 2014 Good afternoon PD, I like this shot, mostly for the emotion it cast to the viewer. The old structure gives us a sense of worn out but once something. The creative cropping is high artistry. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 27, 2014 Welcome and thank you Victor, Yes, it must be at least 100 years old and maybe much more! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 274 Posted September 27, 2014 Good morning, Tony! The longer used houses reflects the more emotions! Thank you very much for your positive and thorough elaboration! PDE Link to comment
