I don't know whether the flower is lying in an oil slick of sorts or simply on a shoreline.  Immaterial - the color palette and texture are magnificent.

My best always,

Michael and Jack - sorry to disappoint you but this is a glass table in my son's backyard. I was looking for oil but could not find any. I sprayed some soap on a paper towel, rubbed the glass and let it dry. There was some orange and blue in the sky and that helped.

I rubbed off all of the soap and found a different section of the table and did this 2nd one.  I did a few different experiments and if anything looks decent I will share it.

Hi Tony!

What a great idea! I would never have thought of using soap to create this. Colours work so well with the flower. Another successful creative idea from you! With best wishes. Sarah.

Nothing short of ingenious! The oil slick effect is completely plausible and flower and reflection add the finishing touch!

Very well done Tony!

Just delightful, pure art and sensibility, elegant and refined. Colors are superb, and the two "subjects" balance each other in several dimensions, from the optical, to the physical, to the forms and textures. Exceptional work of art.
