Symbiosis

In early autumn the rutting season starts in Richmond park.After the early morning activity the dominant stag gathers his harem in an opening in the woods for a rest.The jackdaws descent upon the herd for an early morning meal.The deer allow the jackdaws to land on their backs or heads to eat the parasites that thrive around their ears ,neck and eyes.The shot was taken from around 30 feet away with  a 500 mm lens on a monopod,thanks for looking

Alf you are right,there is another photo with the jackdaw just standing on the head of the deer.

They were sold through an agency several times and published in the Daily Mail with a story,that earned me several hundred pounds.After the publication everybody stole them and the story (non profit websites) in Poland,Slovakia and as far as Korea and China and countless other websites

The rutting season is just starting now,there is more to come soon
