Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon! This was my first trip to the park, spent most of the short

time I was there scouting locations and playing typical tourist. I did manage

to find a popular overlook for sunset, and took a few shoots. I will be posting

more from this area in the coming days!

Great colors, depth and texture!

I wish the composition include more of the knobs of the rock formations in upper left and center. Bottom portion is good with canyon jutting diagonally across the lower third.

A nice touch to a popular attraction. I like the tight framing and low sun angle which paints the canyon in a subtle way. Well done.

Stunning photograph - It is how I recall the canyon back when I last saw it in '73. Curious about the shooting conditions Joshua. So many recent photos of Grand Canyon reveal some degree of haze in the atmosphere and your image is quite clear. It looks like it might have rained the day prior to your visit, do you think that may have "washed out" some of the haze? Was there any visible haze when you took the photo? If there was haze, where you able to minimize it in post production and how did you go about it? Again, beautiful photograph, lovely color and detail.

Thanks for your comments, is was quite hazy, it is more evident in future pictures i will be posting. I did my best to cut through it by increasing the contrast and clarity in post.
