Dave, I have never seen a gull chick. Nice capture. Good exposure, detail and composition. IMO the white spots near the top are a little distracting - I would clone them out.

Nice & sharp where it counts with the all sought after catch light in the eye.  The central placement of your subject and the aforementioned white spots in the background could be managed a little better in my estimation, but still, no deal breaker. You aced the important part.  The rest is simply exercising your 'artistic license'. I'd be pleased to come home with an image like this.  Best, LM.
