Hele-Riin II

The picture is just waaay to cluttered.  All the junk in the background simply distracts (putting it politely),  should have used a wide open aperture and blurred that backreound out.

Before judging the portrait content of an image I look for the overall impact and meaning in my mind.  Jake MacButters wanted to blur the background to reduce the clutter but this is not a high school senior portrait where background elements need to be tamed.  This looks like an abandoned meat factory and, for me, this is a campy, humorous image.  This lady is loud and proud about her legs and is kicking them for the viewer.  The meat factory metaphor makes all the clutter work in supporting the the model.  Nice lighting, composition and use of space.

For me a 6 is very right here!
