Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 18, 2014 Ahh to be a kid again wading in the shallows. This photo brings back that time when life seemed limitless and stretched out so far in front of you that it dipped over the far horizon. Link to comment

michaellinder 16,613 Posted August 18, 2014 Once again you have brightened our world with a magnificent portrayal of a human's interaction with nature. Although the subject's face remains hidden from us, we certainly can infer that his look is one of sheer enchantment and joy. My best always, michael Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 19, 2014 Jack - I look at this with nostalgia. The difference between this kid and me is that he threw off his shoes and waded in but I was on the water's edge with some insulated water boots in case I needed to venture into the water. Dave - glad you liked it. Mike M - thanks for stopping by and for the positive feedback. Trisha - I am always happy to share. Patsy - Glad you liked it also. Michael L - You are going to make me blush! I try and find the beauty in the world - at least close to home because it is less expensive. I do this because one only has to turn on the news, CNN, BBC, etc and see that there is non-beauty in the world. And many times I have to tune out and turn the news off but I often get drawn back like a moth does to the bright light. I was at my 'secret spot' and I usually don't get 'visitors. He showed up and was totally oblivious to my tripod and camera. I was lucky to turn it into a photo opportunity. Then his younger sister, his mother and a dog showed up. They also waded into the water and I sneaked a couple of shots (no faces showing) and then eventually I asked if they would allow me to take a photo of them staring at the sunset to which they agreed.I have looked at all of the others and I really prefer this first shot I took. frigo 4,155 Posted August 19, 2014 Without the boy, this is just another one of your great sunset scenes. The boy,his reflection and the wave pattern pushes this to the next level;top marks for this one and I'll borrow it for my Favourites folder.Bravo et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 19, 2014 Laurent - thanks for letting me know what elements appealed to you. I find that useful. As I already mentioned, Lady luck had a part to play since I have been going down to that location for many years and getting a person in the water has only happened once. Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted August 20, 2014 Awesome scene with an immense visual appeal. The stillness and openess to the horizon seems to present a promising future to this young kid almost walking on water toward celestial colourful skies. Powerful image! Link to comment

charo 3 Posted November 20, 2014 This image is very beautiful Tony, The colors are lovely, the composition is brilliant and the boy complements the picture in a special way. Often the colors come alive after the sun went down. I love it!Kind Regards,Rosario. Link to comment
