In essence, this is an example of what I aspire to be able to do.  The lighting, the color and texture make me want to sit at this table with a snifter of Lagavulin and read the book open on the table.

Impressive still - love the colour, the elements, the composition. 

I like the fact that this isn't a nice neat tidy shot. Composition is a little haphazard, but for this photograph the message is all about haphazard so it works nicely. HDR is not too overdone, and the lighting adds to the character of the shot.

A thoughtful and precise composition, beautiful colors.
