This is a beautiful effect!  I do suggest you hold up two sheets of paper to the screen of your monitor and crop the sides slightly (but not quite touching parasols).  My thinking is that the slightly vertical picture now emphasizes the subject and shadow.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions.

David.  I am humbled.  Thank you very much.

Jim.  Thanks, I appreciate it.

John.  Thanks.  I agree that the shadow really makes a big impact.

Amy.  Thanks.  I thought the red was pretty striking as well.  I think the color and the pose give the image a light happy feel.  A nice contrast to my usual BW broodiness.

Andrew.  That is a big compliment in my books and I have often felt the same about your work.

Jerry.  Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by.  I see your point about the crop and will play with it some more.  I enjoyed looking at your PN portfolio.   Thanks and I hope to hear from you in the future.

Thanks again everyone and all the best.

Thanks Raymond.  Glad you took a look at this.  I thought is was fun as well.  When I saw it, I thought of your postcard series.  All the best.  Dana...

Dear Dana, I was scrolling your portfolio and I found curious that (I suppose by chance) this image is currently in a central position of it. It really stands out together with the red element.

Ricardo.  Thank you for looking and commenting.  I am very fond of this image as well.  As you can see from my portfolio, I tend to shoot a lot of BW but also like how the red works as a structural element in this one.  All the best.  Dana...
