This image was taken at the Butterfly Conservancy in New York.

Worth a visit if ever in the Oneonta area. Comments are always

welcome. Thanks for looking.

Well done.  You have diagonal lines, a nice butterfly, and a blurry b/g.  I like it.  Congratulations.

The outline shape of the vegetation that the butterfly clings to resembles a butterfly too, very clever!

Nice capture. Sharp subject and blurred b/g. Since the ISO was 1250, I assume you did not use flash. How was the noise when enlarged?

Hi Dave, Nice to see you back. I shot this a couple of years ago with Canon t3i and canon 70-300 mm IS lens. At 1250 iso there was little noise enlarged, what little there was , was limited to the far outside areas towards the corners. Thanks for your comment and question.

Wow, excellent detail captured Holger!! I appreciate the effort. Butterflies don't always stay still too long. You had it in just the right focal plane. That is where I have a bit of trouble sometimes.  Congrats on this one!

Gail, Jamie Thanks for the look and write. I did enjoy the visit to the Butterfly Conservatory very much. It's a giant room filled with many different species of plant, animal, birds and of course... butterflies. Thanks again, see you soon.
