tolle13 0 Posted June 10, 2014 Chose to shoot this scene as a long exposure to enhance the reflected light and colour on the water surrounding the statue, would love to hear your view and comments Link to comment
gag 0 Posted June 10, 2014 Hi Jed, love the colours, the distant objects what are they, could they be removed? All The BestGary Link to comment
cegeiss 6 Posted June 11, 2014 This is an amazing image, Jed. There are plenty of long-exposure shots of oceans, but the three figures make the shot! Very surrealistic. Great idea! Link to comment
gag 0 Posted June 11, 2014 Ah the distant objects are other statues, best leave them in then. Link to comment
tolle13 0 Posted June 12, 2014 Hi Gary, thanks for your kind comments, you spotted that the other objects were statues as well, they are distant but I think they add something.Jed Link to comment

wsanders 0 Posted June 29, 2014 Love the saturation and treatment. Great concept. The water looks very cool! Even though the distant objects are statues, they're not really recognizable as such. I think the image would benefit from their removal, but that's just my opinion. Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted June 29, 2014 Surreal. Love the soft water and the saturation. The 3 figures let one's imagination go in many different directions. Good work Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted June 29, 2014 They sort of bothered me as well, until I opened the larger version. There they're recognizable Link to comment
tolle13 0 Posted June 30, 2014 Wes, thanks for taking the time to view and comment. I have included and removed the other statues several times when processing this image, decided to leave them in when looked at the image enlarged when they do have an impact.Jed Link to comment

b-rock 0 Posted September 13, 2014 I like this image, and I think the distant statues should remain. I like the triangle they create... and that is what I'd probably change - or experiment with.I think the triangle created is too shallow and wonder if changing the shooting position to put the closest figure into the bottom right third point, with the left one in the upper left third point. The distant right one would fit wherever it would fit and the triangle would be created with a better balance in my opinion. Link to comment
tolle13 0 Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks Brock, I really appreciate you taking the time to view and comment on this image. I'll give the composition you suggest a go next time I'm down on this beach.Jed Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted October 14, 2014 Hi Jed. Where is this installation? It is a good subject for an imaginational landscape creation, or some other surrealistic image creation.Cheers. Link to comment
tolle13 0 Posted October 16, 2014 Bela, this is Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' on Crosby beach Merseyside in the north of England. A very popular venue with photographers for obvious reasons.Jed Link to comment
