subc 0 Posted June 9, 2014 The Gaddi are a tribe living mainly in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Gaddis belong to the class of the shepherds and they mainly look after goats and sheep. I came across this particular gentleman of the community during a trek in the Western Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, India. We got caught in a sudden shower, and had taken shelter in a shepherd's hut, and there he was with his luxuriant moustache and distinctive Gaddi cap. He readily obliged for a photograph, but the light was extremely poor and there was not much room. This is the best I could do. Link to comment
c7huber 0 Posted June 9, 2014 Such a great face, and with the limited light I think you did a good job. The backdrop allows his face to shine here. Nice work, also enjoyed your portfolio. Regards, Cynthia Link to comment
benjamin_kim 0 Posted June 10, 2014 An excellent portrait! I like the tight frame and subdued lighting. I might try this in black and white for a higher contrast and it might be less distracting without color. Link to comment
