I was walking along the shore and came across this pattern the pollen

and water were making. Your thoughts always appreciated,

This is a fascinating effect, and one that I've never seen.  I would have liked to have been there to see it, and also be there as it was being formed, just to know how it comes about.  If you have any insight into how the streaks form, I'd like to hear it.  Compositionally, I think the eye is especially drawn to the bright area near the center where the streaks come together.  Cropping the top to eliminate the rocks there I think makes it stronger, and it makes the image a bit more abstract.  It's a beautiful natural effect - thank you for posting this picture.

An amazing picture - or at least one that amazes me. The pattern of pollen in the water is a phenomena I could never imagine and makes for a distinctive picture.. If there's that much pollen around it's no wonder half the world suffers from hay fever.

Thank you Mark and Jack for your comments.  I was amazed at the effect made by the poplar trees' pollen on the water.  Mark thanks for the cropping suggestion, I initially thought of taking the rocks at the top left out but I didn't want to crop out the top rock that the stream runs around.  I will have a look at cropping again.

Thanks,

Dave

Very artistic image, the pattern and flow of the pollen and the placement of the rocks makes this work. Well seen and presented.

Sincerely,

Holger
