The slow speed worked well in tracing the foam streaks left by the receeding wave action. The crystal clear ice came out really good in that near block.Impressive scene and excellent image!

Great creative lead-lines to connect the excellent composition.  Nice complementary colors.  I like the wind and water activity at the horizon.  I like this one the best of all your Iceland series.  When I was at this area a few years ago in September the sustained winds were 100 km/h.  We saw a blown-over van and passed a white-knuckled driver of an identical van!  Needless to say, no chance for photos for me there.  I hope to return some June for long days of shooting to try to capture what you have done in such a short day.  Regards, Jeff

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments!

David and Jeff: like all the iceberg shots taken with the 24mm TS that you can find in my portfolio, this one was shot in early February. The sun doesn't get much higher than what you see on this image, but it rises and sets very very slowly. Using a tripod allows you to shoot at least between 10am and 5pm, with a truly breathtaking light. I guess that in June you can shoot all day long if it's not too sunny and almost all night long if it's not too cloudy. But to get such a low sun you may need to give up some sleep. In February you don't have this problem: you can get up around 9am and visit a good restaurant around 6pm.
