The rising tide is bringing back the ice from the broken sheet that

did not reach the open sea on the last low tide;it will flow back out

on the next low tide or under a favorable wind.Thank you for your

One of the penalties for being able to find beautiful images such as this, is living in the frozen north.  Such a moody sky and wonderful geometric pieces of ice , but it is almost May!  When does it melt?

Thank you kindly my friend. This is looking east with the sun in the back.

Thank you for the kind appreciation. The melt is somewhat late this year as we had an exceptionally cold winter which caused the ice sheet to be thicker than usual(up to 5 feet in places)....and a late spring(last snow hopefully was on the 24th April). It makes for good photo opportunities but the downside is a delay, maybe as much as two weeks in the lobster and crab fishing season which normally opens on 1st May.Icebreakers are actively at work but some favorable winds are needed to push the ice out at sea once the tides have floated it out otherwise it floats right back in.

Nice nature composition. This photo is a good example of object framework leveraging local chaos. It's about capturing a incommon landscape scene with excellent sharpness and adequate brightness, Well done! Congratulations. Roldao
