This is a real good drawing ! very strong face details. This one looks as a new work of yours? and for my impression a great development of your drawing skills. It is not the one I saw (before) as your portrait, but this is  a most advanced one,.!I hope to see more new ones, and I hope as well that you keep uploading your work (also the  previous one...!)

Happy passover !

Thank you Mehmet!  It's always a great pleasure to hear from you and look at your photographs.  The last one at the coffee shop really brought me pleasure.

Pnina, Thanks! I haven't drawn in months.  Yesh lee sartan b'rechem.  I still want to work more on this drawing.  The other that you commented on is an old drawing.  I'll put in in view.  I hope you continue to heal.  Happy Pesach!

Very nicely rendered.  A lot of personality.  i love the shrug, which gives a bit of humor.  The textures are nicely rendered.  Playful--not fussy or overworked.

Thanks, Jeff.  Actually, I'm slowly working on it a bit more.  Glad it doesn't look over-worked.  Definitely want to move away from that.  Regards

Great details with a very interesting expression! It so happens that I visit my Doctor last week for the yearly check-up that our insurance requires. I notice he has gain considerable amount of weight, placing him in the obese category. Doctors come in all types of personalities and body shapes. When they are intellectually brilliant as well as emotionlly brilliant, it is a plesure to relate to them! But everyone that comes our way teach us something valuable! Warm regards my dear friend.

Your work continues to develop and the way you characterize your subjects becomes even more evident. The element of life that you encapsulate is both charming and moving and I think the balance of shaded area's and light are really well balanced, this has real depth!

My Sincere Compliments & Warm Regards

It has been awhile since I have visited you. I can see you have stuck to the creative path as you strive to develop your own very interesting and unique style.  I really like this one. You have done a good job in bringing life and energy to this person. I love the bright sparkle in those intelligent and knowing eyes. I also see a vulnerability, perhaps frailty there. The eyes, the relaxed shoulders and the smile all work together to create a charming portrait. Well done.

Best wishes,

Linda

Yikes!  I'm sorry for the delay in response.  I've been sick (cancer) and wiped out from months of treatments but am getting more energy.

This doc is my father, and he wore that sweater a lot.  He was an internist/ cardiologist and died last July of cancer.  This is the only thing I've drawn in quite a while.

He was kind, brilliant, supportive of all family members and so many neighbors and his patients.  When we were kids, we never could go on any vacation without him stopping if there was a car accident to see what he could do to help.  And he had a sense of humor and curiosity that is rarely found.

I am sorry I did not see this sooner Donna. It is good to see that you decided to draw this image of your Father. Even before I knew who it was, I could see the 'smile' in his eyes. What a lovely face. I feel your 'heart prints' all over this composition. Thank you for telling us what kind of man he was. I know you miss him very much. I am sure you have a lot of 'him' in you. It comes out in your sketching. This one must mean a lot. Your choice to draw him is a also a big step in the grieving process. At times it must have been difficult, yet for me, I think it would make you feel closer to him as you drew. An excellent choice as you once again take up pencil and sketch pad - Beautiful work Donna.

Always in my thoughts, Gail

Looking again on this work of yours i really think you are a wasted talent..this is such a good drawing and his face are well showing his character (not easy to capture) .and I do think that employing your self in thi s kind of creation, will help you forget all the rest of human problems ....and I know it from my personal experience

I hope you will take my advice seriously. .And how are you in general? please send me a note.
