Hippo Crossing Zambezi River

Hippo (Hippopotamus amphibius) swimming across the Zambezi

river which flows between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Sometimes

terribly harsh light during the day can make for an alternative

scenery, especially photographing a dark subject ;).

Yes, I know what you mean about that bright sunshine and the Zambezi.  Nice shot though, as it enhances the hippo detail and gives an interesting light to the remainder of the scene.  I also like the action that is obvious in this image.
