Atlanta At Sundown

Just a picture I took one evening...nothing special, I just liked the

color of the sky with the few clouds. Comments welcomed.

Lisa! Is that you? Nice pink sky. I think I might just whittle at the top but I love the colors and I'm sure it lost some intensity enroute to the web.

Fred, I thought about cropping of some of the top, but my mind has been racing 100MPH and I forgot to do that before I posted it. And yes it did lose a little quality when I posted it. Oh well, that's the way cyberspace is! The colors on the original are really nice.

The web image does look a little too ordinary. The white streak and power lines are mildly distracting as well. I've learned from experience how difficult it is to capture the real beauty of a sky like this.

This is a very nice image overall, but there are a few things that could be improved. The power lines could not be in a worse place. Being placed right over the streak of red as they are makes that streak look far too substantial. Cropping the top was also already mentioned. That tiny halo of white around the trees is an artifact created by the too-heavy use of unsharp mask. You can lessen the sharpening, or if that's not palatable, you can select the trees and just clone the halo away.

 

Again, except for those few nits, this is a good picture.
